2023 OARBC Annual Meeting Report
The 2023 Annual Meeting of the Ohio Association of Regular Baptist Churches (OARBC) was held October 16-18, 2023, at Grace Baptist Church, Cedarville, Ohio.
The theme, “Developing Leaders through Mentoring Ministry” was highlighted through the preaching and teaching of Dr. Jeremy Kimble, Theology Professor, Cedarville University and Dr. Andy Giessman, Executive Director of the Addison’s Walk Center for Christian Studies.
In addition to the powerful preaching and corporate worship, there were intentional opportunities for further enrichment and fellowship.
Monday evening a Welcome and Well Done dinner was held by invitation from the Council of 12 to recognize new pastors and staff of OARBC churches and honor those who have retired in the past year.
Tuesday noon, Cedarville University sponsored a luncheon on campus for all attendees. Dr. Thomas White, President, and other University staff shared of the future expansions and opportunities for present and incoming students, emphasizing the continued commitment to the historic Biblical position of the University.
Following the Tuesday evening service, an ice cream social was sponsored by Baptist Mid-Missions, Middleburg Heights, Ohio. Featured in a variety of flavors was the popular ice cream from the local Young’s Dairy.
Wednesday morning three OARBC partnering camps–Camp Patmos, Scioto Hills, and Skyview Ranch, sponsored a breakfast at the church followed by a time of praising God for what He has been doing in each ministry. Evidenced was the important role Christian camps contribute to “Developing Leaders through Mentoring Ministry” in partnership with churches and families.
Chuck Pausley, OARBC State Representative, is very thankful for the “excellent time of teaching, worship and fellowship. Grace Baptist Church, Cedarville, went over and above serving us so graciously.”
The 2024 Conference is scheduled for October 21-23 at Grace Baptist Church, Canton, Ohio.
